Heads Up!

Heads Up!

If you have the budget, spend it on seeing a Milliner rather than buying ‘off the rack’ – they will make a personal piece that will suit your face shape & scale as well as co-ordinate with your outfit.

Dress for your age bracket.

Dress for the weather – avoid strapless & open toed shoes if it is bucketing down!

Plan for Melbourne’s 4 seasons in one day – either have 2 outfits or one outfit with some layering components – like a jacket to account for a weather change, Melbourne in the Spring is unpredictable!

Fasten your headwear with a hat pin or 2 or have hat elastic attached to account for a windy weather.

Dresses are on trend this season – so don’t be afraid to buck tradition with a bright colored or floral print dress, it is a simple yet sophisticated statement. Just make sure you consider the length & style as one is dressing for the race track not the nightclub!

Plan your outfit – start with the hat & work your way down.

If you insist on fake tan (not my personal favorite) make sure it is fresh & waterproof. A practice run can avoid the surprise of being a few shades darker than you had anticipated.

Balance & proportion of your complete look is a must – so dress for your own individual shape & proportion. It’s not about how much money you spend, it’s about having the complete package & a balanced silhouette.
Simple Elegance is always a winner.

Handbag – make sure it is big enough for all the essentials; race book, pen, lipstick or gloss, sun glasses, ballet flats, factor 30 sunscreen, band-aids/blister pads, mobile phone. Optional; powder compact, hair brush or comb, camera, binoculars.
